Series Review
Law and Order, Danish Style
BFFs Detective Louise Rick and crime reporter Camilla Lind, heroines of the mystery book series of the same name, investigate the same crimes for different reasons: Lind to land a front-page story and Rick to catch the criminal. Set in Denmark.

A realistic police procedural with a twist

I love a strong female hero and this series of police procedurals has two! Nicely paced investigations and nuanced descriptions of people and communities--no cliches here. Also, Danish police work is a group activity and the team dynamic is unique and interesting and somewhat counter-intuitive to this American who is always expecting a lone-wolf hero to emerge.

Series Guide
There are seven Detective Louise Rick/ Reporter Camilla Lind mystery novels published in Danish. So far, three of them have been published in English in the US. I hope more are coming soon.

For fans only. This book has some great elements but as a whole is not quite ready for prime time. Other books are MUCH better.

Loved it! This investigation challenges everyone's preconceived notions about Eastern European organized crime and presents the Copenhagen cops with a level of violence they are not prepared for.
